Gender Equity made easy!
We know that approaching equality and gender equity in early years settings isn’t easy. That’s why we’ve worked with educators, experts and families to create the Gender Equity Resource Kit. It has everything you need to embed gender equity and equality in your centre, play group or home care. Our kit will save you hours of time and money, while giving you the confidence to be part of equality from the start.
Rigid gender roles and gender stereotypes can impact a child’s development and has been linked to an increase in family violence later in life. Our Gender Equity Resource Kit forms part of our primary prevention program Level
Playground, inspired to change long term gender equity and equality outcomes.

Confidence in comprehensive.
The Gender Equity Resource Kit is a comprehensive solution to addressing the topic of equality, unravelling rigid gender roles and stereotypes as well discussing respectful relationships in your early years setting. The kit contains evidence-based, purposeful tools, templates and guides.
What’s inside:
- A comprehensive handbook that offers guidance on implementation
- Lesson plans for age appropriate activies
- Books, playing card set and emotion card set
- Ready to use communication plan and fact sheets to engage with parents and carers
- Posters to display throughout the early years environment
- Policy templates and audit tools for creating inclusive environments
Age appropriate, always.
When we talked with educators and care givers about gender equity and equality, we heard that there was an appetite to be part of the solution, but barriers in making the content age appropriate. That’s our speciality!
We are social workers, health and human services specialists and primary prevention experts. We’ve worked alongside educators, children and families to ensure that our resources and activities are impactful and age appropriate.

Be part of equality, from the start.
Why should you approach gender equity in early years? Research and evidence suggests that we can achieve equality when children learn and grow in environments free from rigid gender roles and harmful stereotypes.
When we encourage respectful relationships in early years, children are less likely to be the offender or victim of gender-based violence. Being part of the solution is everyone’s responsibility.

We’re all about creating a fairer, more equal world—starting with kids. We know that gender inequality is at the core of family violence which is why our work focuses on primary prevention.
Primary prevention means tackling the root causes of violence before it happens. It’s about shifting the social norms, attitudes, and structures that reinforce gender stereotypes and inequality. Through play, storytelling, and everyday interactions, we help children, families, educators, and communities challenge outdated ideas about gender and embrace fairness, respect, and opportunity for all.
FVREE is a not-for-profit specialist family violence service and registered charity working across primary prevention, early intervention, response, support and recovery.
